A MARRIED middle school teacher has been accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old student he allegedly smuggled into a Utah school when it was closed to pupils.
Lucas Sloan Talley taught at South Hills Middle School for 12 years, during which he allegedly “had personal contact” with multiple girls via text messages and emails.
Most of the interactions were “of a personal nature and not school related,” according to a police booking affidavit obtained by Deseret News.
Talley allegedly planned to meet his teen victim at the middle school twice when students weren’t allowed in due to Covid and smuggled her in via a black and yellow Sterilite storage bin.
“Lucas placed the Sterilite bin (with the female victim inside of the bin) on a dolly device and wheeled the girl into his classroom,” according to the affidavit.
He then allegedly shut and locked the classroom door.
Talley told police he named the bin after the girl and stuck a label on the inside that read: “Hope your box is comfortable,” court docs show.
Riverton police said in their affidavit that Tally told them the teen’s parents didn’t know he had stuffed her in a bin, prompting the girl’s mother to order him to stop contacting her daughter in June.
The sicko said he “had thought of being with (the girl) as a couple, but knew he would have to wait six to seven years before he could get to this point,” the affidavit states.
Multiple emails, texts, and video messages show allegedly him telling his teen victim “he loves her and misses her.”
The 38-year-old teacher “thrived on” his interactions with young female students, whom he said provided “validation” for his ego, according to the affidavit.
“Lucas told detectives he has realized he needs the validation from these female students for his ego and thrives on it,” the affidavit said.
Talley, who’s also a father of four, “struggled” without getting the attention when the school in Utah shut down, according to the affidavit.
That’s when he allegedly started chatting with the teen girl daily during weekdays.
The court doc also says Talley “knew he was overstepping his teacher role but his interactions with the female victim were a type of therapy for him.”
The accused perv began an “emotional relationship” with the 14-year-old girl during the 2019-20 school year and confided in her about his marriage troubles as well as his struggles with anxiety and depression, police said.
According to the affidavit, Talley started taking treats to the girl’s home and the two spent “hours” inside her home, where police said he allegedly hugged and touched her inappropriately multiple times.
“The female victim was scared something sexual was about to happen and felt uncomfortable and did not want to be in this setting with Lucas,” officers wrote in their report.
Talley was arrested and booked into Salt Lake County Jail on Friday.
He was charged with two counts of kidnapping.
Cops requested that Talley be held without bail due to his mental health issues, according to the court docs.
