REAL Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Kim Richards’ daughter Brooke’s home was raided by agents in relation to her father-in-law’s fraud investigation.
The government investigation alleges that Andrew Wiederhorn, Brooke’s father-in-law, committed securities and wire fraud, money laundering and attempted tax evasion.
Continuing the investigation, federal agents raided the Beverly Grove home of Andrew’s son, Thayer, and his-daughter-in-law Brooke back in December.
Brooke and Thayer got hitched back in 2014 and their nuptials were recorded on the television show RHOBH.
Brooke is the oldest daughter of Kim Richards, one of the “real housewives” on the Bravo reality show.
According to the Los Angeles Times, agents took phones, digital storage devices, tax documents and other records from their home.
Brooke, however, was not mentioned on the court documents.
The investigation requested a judge’s permission to search another family member of Andrew’s home, also in Beverly Hills, however, it is uncertain if that search has occurred yet.
An FBI financial agent on Andrew’s case alleged he had “devised and executed a fraudulent scheme” to avoid paying taxes and received “millions of dollars in sham loans” through his companies.
The court documents list credit card purchases by Andrew and his family which included a $183,500 charge at a London jeweler, $150,000 spent on a down payment for a Rolls-Royce, and $100,000 to a Beverly Hills divorce attorney.
The FBI financial agent declared there was “probable cause” that Andrew “engaged in the criminal conduct” including tax offenses, misrepresentations to investors and fraud offenses.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the status of the investigation is “unclear.”
His attorney, Douglas Fuchs of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, said in a statement late Friday that “Mr. Wiederhorn categorically denies these allegations and at the appropriate time we will demonstrate that the government has its facts wrong.”
Fuchs said in the statement: “These loans were completely legitimate and were independently reviewed and approved. In addition, Mr. Wiederhorn’s tax returns were prepared and approved by independent tax professionals and he has been making payments under a plan approved by the IRS.
KYLE TO THE RESCUE
The Sun reported the troubled former Bravo star was living in the modest home as back in July 2021, she owed nearly $100,000 in unpaid taxes to the State Of California.
A source exclusively revealed to The Sun that Kyle, 52, is “completely paying” for the home so her older sister can live there “rent-free” – as she has for the past six years.
Documents obtained by The Sun show that Kyle did in fact purchase the Encino apartment back in September 2015.
Kyle shelled out $520,000 for the two-bedroom, 1,600-square-foot pad, real estate records show.
Mauricio and Kyle famously own the most expensive house in Encino – a suburb of Los Angeles – where Kim’s apartment also is located.
However, Kim can relax at her apartment complex as it boasts a shared pool, jacuzzi and is gated for extra privacy.
Kim and Kyle’s reps did not respond to The Sun’s request for comment.
